Top Marks For Orton Cadet

Cadet Flight Sergeant Thomas Quigley of 51 (Orton) Squadron Air Training Corps, has achieved a Distinction * for his recent hard work with the BTEC First Diploma. Add to this his Aviation Studies success Tom can now boast the equivalent of 6 GCSE’s to his CV.

Officer Commanding 51 (Orton) Squadron, Pilot Officer Angela Bone said, “cadets who go on to complete all four stages of the current training syllabus will receive a BTEC qualification equivalent to 2 GCSEs. Cadets like Tom who decide to go on and do the First Diploma in Public Services as well, can go on to qualify for both BTEC’s, which is equivalent to a total of 6 additional GCSEs. This is a big plus for any young persons CV when applying for jobs or course places in the future.”

To quote from the Duke of Westminsters KG CB OBE TD DL accompanying letter, “The BTEC Diploma is an internationally recognised qualification that is well respected in both the work place and institutes of higher education and this award is therefore a platform on which you can build a successful future.”
