Leading the Parade.

SawtryCarnival51 (Orton) Squadron was proud to represent the Corps on Saturday at the Sawtry Carnival.

Departing from Sawtry College at 11.45, the Drum Corp and cadets from 51 (Orton) Squadron, lead the parade of numerous clubs who had turned out to support the annual event.  The parade included among others, the carnival queen, local majorettes, representation from the Winemaking club, Darleks and WW1 Aircraft.

The course of the parade proceeded around the village covering approximately 3 miles, where the streets were lined with onlookers. Many doors opened as the drums playing made sure that the parade did not pass by unnoticed.

A very pleasant afternoon was then spent mingling with the community and taking part in the many activities on offer. A number of cadets supported the local scouting group, by having a slide down in their canoe!!!
