Air Cadets Cook at Pidley Mountain Rescue Teddy Bear Freefall!!!
Last Saturday, Cadet Wells, Cadet Toms and Cadet Goodman joined Flight Sergeant Smith at the Annual Pidley Mountain Rescue World Teddy Bear Free-Fall Championships. The squadron once again brought their field catering skills to the test as they completed the catering for all the volunteers at this event. Very quickly the 3 cadets erected the cooking tent, and got part of the Field Kitchen up and running.
The Pidley Mountain Rescue is a team of people who aim to improve the quality of life and independence of disabled and disadvantaged people within Huntingdonshire allowing them to have the same opportunities and freedom as everyone else. The is an annually run event to help those less fortunate than ourselves to buy aids such as bikes and seating’s for the disabled.
The field kitchen is now getting regular use from catering for the Squadron at open evenings to catering for many squadrons at Wing Events. Managed under the capable hands of Flight Sergeant Smith, members of the Air Cadets and Civ Comm alike regularly assist with the catering and the long term plan is for the cadets to develop their skills further.
