51 Secure a Place at Wing Netball.

Two girls from 51 (Orton) squadron spent their Sunday representing the squadron at open netball at RAF Wyton, and it was certainly a day worth celebrating with both cadets securing a place in the Wing Netball team.

Cadet Hannah Graham and Cadet Amy Whitehead played well alongside fellow teammates from 2524 (Oakington) Squadron giving a great first game score of 4-0 against 1003 (Leighton Buzzard) 134 (Bedford) and 73 (Huntingdon). With spirits high the girls went on to win their next match 3-1 against 115 (Peterborough), 2484 (Bassingbourn) and (272 (Wisbech).

NetballWith stiff competition from 207 (Cranfield) and 1220 (March) squadron the winning streak did not last as they lost this game 2-5. With only the last game to play the girls gave it their all but unfortunately lost the final game 2-5 to 2462 (Oakley) and 73(Huntingdon).

Even with the high level of contestants the girls worked hard, and this payed off as their team came third overall in the tournament and both Cadet Graham and Cadet Whitehead secured their place in Wing Open Netball on Sunday 3rd November.
