Drilling for Money.

Race for Life Five Cadets from 51 (Orton) Squadron and CI Alyson Lee, were out last Wednesday night to raise money for Cancer Research. The six female members of the Air Cadets, raised money to support the local Race for Life run at Ferry Meadows. CI Lee said, “The girls wanted to do something different at this event, and it just seemed so obvious that they should complete the course by Marching and they did it very well.”

The rest of the squadron, did not let the girls do this event alone, they all supported the event by assisting the volunteers who arrange this well worth cause. Each cadet was allocated a role, from handing out medals, to cheering the participants along to litter picking and rubbish collecting at the end.The rest of the squadron, did not let the girls do this event alone, they all supported the event by assisting the volunteers who arrange this well worth cause. Sgt Robinett commented, “This must be the fourth if not fifth Race for Life event I have attended with the squadron, and each year we all have so much fun. Yet there is a serious side to this event and you only need to read the back of the shirts each person wears to see how many lives have been affected by this illness.”

If you want to be part of something different, stand out from the crowd and show your skills off and help others, then come and see us at our squadron. 51(Orton) Squadron meet on a Tuesday and Wednesday night between 7pm and 9.15pm. Visit our website for more information. www.51sqnatc.co.uk.
