Air Cadets Go Back in Time

This Saturday seeís 51 Orton Squadron out in itís fully glory supporting the 1940ís weekend at Holme Village.

Holme has been supporting this event for 8 plus years and each year it just becomes more impressive, with 2012 expecting to be bigger and better with more numbers than ever before.  So much has been arranged for visitors to see and do from the fun pig racing to looking round the vintage cars to access into Holmewood Hall where underground tunnels are still accessible.  Fly pass have been arranged for Saturday and many will be looking at those dressed in their 1940’s gear.

51 Orton Squardon will be there supporting the event and holding three stalls of their own, look out the traditional fare!!!

A 1940’s weekend would not be complete without the Service of Remembrance and we hope this will just be that.  The squadron have been invited to escort the parade demonstrating their skilful band and the Standard Party.

Please feel free to come along and support the many organisations present.  Entrance is free and it’s official opening times are 10.00am to 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday with the parade commencing at the Village Hall at 11.45 on the Sunday.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the ATC, why not visit our tents on the main road opposite Holmewood Hall for more information and to experience some of the history behind our squadron.  Should you not be able to make the weekend then please visit our website http://www.51sqnatc.co.uk for more information.
